This semester, York University hosted the Turn Up! Music Business Forum and Café, an exciting new event for York and Schulich students eager to break into the music industry. Presented by Antidote Artists and spearheaded by Schulich instructor Patrick "Patch" Twaddle, the forum was a major success.
The event featured three insightful panels:
“So You’ve Made a Recording...”
“Living it Live! (Get the Gig)”
“Your Song Has a Life of Its Own.”
Each session tackled a key aspect of the music industry, offering valuable advice and perspectives for emerging musicians looking to build sustainable and successful careers. The following networking café with acoustic performances provided a valuable opportunity for networking.
Notably, AME alum Margaret McGuffin, CEO of Music Publishers Canada, was among the distinguished panelists.
A huge thank you to all panelists, support staff, and the enthusiastic students and alumni who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and made this event a true celebration of music industry passion and learning.
