Victoria Lean Featured in Toronto Life!

A huge congratulations to AME Alum Victoria Lean for being featured in Toronto Life as a 2024 Rising Star!

The spotlight highlights Victoria’s incredible achievements in Canadian film, including her four 2024 Canadian Screen Award nominations for The Climate Baby Dilemma. This powerful documentary explores the lives of young people grappling with environmental anxiety and their choice to opt out of parenthood—a deeply moving and timely narrative.

This recognition comes on the heels of last year’s big win for We’re All Gonna Die (Even Jay Baruchel), which cemented Victoria’s reputation as a standout voice in the climate-conscious filmmaker space. Known for blending humour and artistic flair with urgent storytelling, her work resonates widely in a world facing climate uncertainty.

Looking ahead, Victoria is collaborating with BlackBerry director Matt Johnson on his next film and is directing a rare “good news” climate documentary about the successful campaign against acid rain—a project that earned a grant from Robert Redford’s foundation.

Congratulations again to Victoria for this well-deserved recognition. Her contributions are making a lasting impact on the industry and beyond. Check out the full Toronto Life feature here.
